Developer FAQ

Does GRAVHOUNDS use generative AI?

No, according to Octopus Panic. The pinned Steam FAQ asks “Does the game feature any generative AI?” and answers “No.” COSMO, the shipboard supervisor, is a character in the story, not that system.

The sentence, in context

The FAQ is a yes/no. It does not list tools, vendors, or a date range for production. I keep the answer as narrow as the question they chose to answer.

Search summaries that also say “no” are repeating this FAQ or the store. I do not count them as a second investigation. The second reading on this page is simply whether Steam’s own disclosure block is present. It was not, on the day above.

FAQ

Who answered the FAQ?

Pixel Chise, posted as Octopus Panic, on 24 Sep 2026. The thread was still the pinned FAQ when checked on 3 Nov 2026.

Is COSMO generative AI?

Xbox Wire calls COSMO a shipboard AI supervisor who hands out jobs. That is a written character. It is a different thing from generative art, text, or voice.

Does the Steam page have an AI disclosure?

On 3 Nov 2026 the store page did not show Steam’s AI Generated Content disclosure section.

Is there a third-party audit?

No. The answer is the studio’s. If a later disclosure appears, this page should quote that too.
